A day at the races

We saw an advertisement this week for swap buggy racing, looked at each other and said "lets go!" Florida Sports Park was only about 10 miles away and it was a nice sunny 80 degree day. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was fun to watch, Not muddy like the mud bogs back home but definitely wet. Mostly they were doing time trials but we laughed at the jeeps that couldn't fly over the bog like the big guys and instead just sank and barely crawled through the deep water. As Doug said, horsepower counts!

You'd never know they're racing at turtle speed. One had to be towed out when it floundered in the hole.

This is how they're supposed to fly over the deep holes.
Of course given the opportunity he had to go for a ride around the track on what they called one of the original "woods buggy". Unfortunately they couldn't go through the deep holes for liability reasons - always something.
